The Collection includes one of each of the below items—specifications and sizes may vary depending on your project.

1) Custom Book

Sizes: 5 x 7, 6 x 9, 8 x 10, 8.5 x 11, 11 x 14 (landscape or portrait format)

Cover Options: Softcover; perfect-bound, semi-gloss or matte finish or hardcover; semi-gloss, matte, or linen finish

Page Count: The minimum number of pages required to print a custom book, with the exception of an accordion-style book, is 32 pages

Hardbound Binding Options:

2) Custom Box

Size: Sizes will vary depending on the nature of your memorabilia items

Book Fabric: Multiple colors to choose from for both the interior and exterior of the box

Printing: Blind emboss or 1-color printing on exterior of box

Size: 11 x 14 minimum (landscape or portrait format)
Paper: Coated 110 lb. cover stock
Printing: Full color digital printing

4) Letterpress Notecards

Format: Bi-fold
Sizes: 5 x 5, 5 x 7, 6 x 9
Paper: Uncoated 110 lb. cover stock
Printing: 1-3 color letterpress printing

Discovery & Design Process for The Collection

Timeline: 6-12 weeks

Step 1

Consultation

Akin will schedule a consultation with you to gather more information about you and your family, stories you may have to share, documents and records, and your memorabilia items. This will help determine what design requirements are needed for your collection.

Step 2

Discovery Presentation

We will compile and present the information gathered through conversations with you, as well as any new research discoveries, in order to establish what content you would like to include in your collection.

Step 3

Design Presentation

Using the established content, sourced photos, records, and memorabilia, Akin will present designs for all items in the collection representative of your family's unique history.

Step 4

Proofing, Fabrication, Printing & Delivery

The presented design will be reviewed by both parties for accuracy and to accommodate personal preferences — and the required changes will be implemented for your approval.
